Global Screen Time Report 2025
Screen time was already close to a full-time job
The 2025 report showed an average initial screen time of 39.7 hours per week, about 5.7 hours per day.
Even then, the typical phone week was almost as long as a standard full-time workweek, and 16 of the 35 countries were already above it. This suggests that high screen time was not an isolated trend, but already part of everyday routines across many countries.

What this means
High screen time is not always the result of one long session. It often comes from hundreds of small moments: checking notifications, opening apps automatically, scrolling between tasks, watching short videos, or filling quiet time with the phone.
That is why minimalist phone focuses on more than limits. It helps reduce visual triggers, interrupt automatic app openings, create screen time routines, and make your phone easier to use intentionally.
